What are bacteria
Bacteria are microscopic beings which are dangerous to foods if given the right conditions
Some aren’t dangerous and very useful in the human body
What conditions are needed for bacteria to multiply and grow
There are 4 conditions for bacteria to grow
1. Food, bacteria love food so if they eat enough of it they should grow very quickly
2. Warmth, bacteria multiply and grow between 5 and 63 degrees Celsius but they remain dormant at below - 18 degrees and are destroyed at over 65 degrees
3. Moisture , bacteria need water to grow and therefore cannot grow in dry foods, but once dry food is reconstituted bacteria can grow in it
4. Time if they are given the right conditions and time bacteria can be very dangerous
How fast do bacteria grow and multiply
Bacteria grow and multiply into 2 every ten minutes
