Produces its energy from sunlight.
What is a primary consumer?
An animal that eats a producer.
What is a secondary consumer?
An animal that eats a primary consumer.
If there is plenty of food for prey animals, what happens to their numbers?
Increase
If there are a greater number of prey animals, what impact does this have on their predators?
Plenty of food available for predators so they survive and reproduce, numbers increase.
If high number of predators, what happens to the number of prey animals?
Prey numbers fall
With fewer prey animals, what impact is there on the predators?
Fewer prey, means less food for predators. Predators are less successful and their numbers fall.
With a reduction in predator numbers, what happens to the number of prey animals?
Prey numbers increase
