Chronic hunger
Long-term hunger caused by a lack of food over a long timescale
Periodic hunger
Temporary hunger that is caused by a short-term decline in food intake
Malnutrition
Having a diet that lacks proper nutrition, caused by not having enough to eat or not having enough good-quality food.

Epidemic
A fast-spreading outbreak of a disease
Pandemic
A global epidemic
HALE
Health-adjusted life expectancey- the length of time that an individual can expect to live based on ajustments made for years of ill health.
Food security
-Food security for a population exists when all its people, at all times, have access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food to meet their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life.
-Food security for a household means access by all its members at all times to enough food for an active, healthy life. (UN Food and Agriculture Organization)
-Food security includes, at a minimum: (i) the ready availability of nutritionally adequate and safe foods; and (ii) an assured ability to acquire acceptable foods in socially acceptable ways (that is, without resorting to emergency
