Standard Takeoff Minima
Vis Mins:
RVR 5000 (1500m) or greater or
1 SM (1600m) or greater
When RVR reports are available, TDZ controls. Mid RVR used if inop TDZ.
FO lowest takeoff mins
> =RVR 1600 (500m) or
=RVV 1/4 SM (400m)
Must have Runway Edge lights unless daytime with vis >= 2 SM
RVR 1000 (300m) or greater
Captain static takeoff
HIRL & CL OR HIRL & RCLM
Minimum of 2 RVRs
TDZ, mid, rollout controlling.
RVR 5000 (150m) or greater
Captain static takeoff
HIRL & CL required. RCLM not.
2 RVR Required
TDZ, mid, rollout controlling
RVR 1600 (500m) or greater OR RVV 1/4 SM (400m) or greater
First Officers lowest takeoff
TDZ controls if reported
Use mid RVR if TDZ RVR inop
Need runway CL or RCLM or High intensity runway lights
What approach category is the A350?
Category C.
Circling: Category D or 1000ft AFE/3SM
What is the lowest approach for a FO
Cat 1 (DA of at least 200 ft and RVR of 550m or more)
Cat III Restrictions
Must review company pages or flight plan remarks for authorization.
Approach must end in Autoland
If RVR<600 or braking < GOOD: All Thrust Reversers are required
CATIIIB not authorized on contaminated runways
What are the autoland callouts?
If no LAND on FMA ~400 ft RA :
GO AROUND
If no FLARE on FMA at 50 ft RA:
GO AROUND
If no ROLLOUT on FMA after touchdown:
NO ROLLOUT
What visibility is the SMGCS plan implemented?
<1200m
What is a RED EMERGENCY
Landing may cause injury and/or damage to the aircraft.
Evacuation probable.
ARFF is required.
FAs will: Prepare cabin for evacuation, instruct customers to brace, anticipate evacuation after landing.
Runway edge lights are required when:
All TO and LD between sunset & sunrise
When vis is <2SM.
