After Termination

A
  • Is a means of accountability for both the leader and the members
  • One more opportunity to remind people that they are responsible for what they become and the necessity of putting forth the effort required for significant change.
  • Reemphasize the importance of confidentiality
  • Offer private consultations
  • Follow-up group sessions or follow-up individual interviews
  • Provide specific referral resources
  • Encourage members to find avenues of continued support
  • Meet with coleader to assess the effectiveness of the group
  • End-of-group assessment instrument to evaluate the nature of individual changes and the strengths and weaknesses of the group
  • Document a summary report of the group and file your records in a confidential location
