A
  • Foramen ovale closes due to increased pressure, fuses closed.
  • Blood no longer flows through the umbilical cord and ductus venosus.
  • Rapid RBC increase.
  • Not in use > constricts > permanently closed off and cells are destroyed.
  • All blood now flows through liver.
