FMS NAV: properly loaded and sequences in FMS
RADIOS: tuned and identified to proper frequency
NAV SOURCE: green or magenta
APPROACH COURSE: Select proper inbound course on both EHSI’s
For an ILS/LOC based approach what should the PF and PM be using for NAV Sources ?
PF: Is on GREEN before FAF
PM: Magenta allowed if Non-Precision

RNAV:
•PF and PM on MAGENTA
NON-precision, non-LOC approach(VOR):
•PF on MAGENTA
•PM on GREEN before FAF
What do you want to confirm about your approach course during approach procedure ?
Confirm proper course is selected on BOTH of the EHSI’s
What do you want to confirm on an RNAV approach during the approach procedure ?
For RNAV approaches, the final approach course in the FMS should match inbound course on the approach plate
When does the pilot flying call for the “Landing Check” ?
After the Flaps are set to the landing position
What is required on the Landing Check?
Flaps : 22/45 “FLAPS 22/45”
Landing Gear- “GEAR DOWN”
Yaw Damper-OFF
X-feed-OFF
Which engine is preferable to shut down prior to arriving at the gate ?
Engine #1
When is the parking check completed by the captain?
After parking at the gate
How do you shut down the APU?
Close ABV Press STOP button on APU panel Watch RPM wind down to 0 percent Turn APU master knob to OFF Look for APU FUEL SOV CLSD
What is the MAX demonstrated crosswind component for takeoff?
30 KIAS including gusts
On twin engine departures during VMC, when can you make an initial turn ?
400’ AFE
What is considered IMC conditions ?
1,000 ft and 3SM
When are turns allowed on two engine departures during IMC?
Turns will be delayed until 1000 AFE
except:
- when cleared for a SID that commands a turn below 1000’ AFE (If no altitude listed begin turn no lower than 400’ AFE)
- If ODP exists and ATC vectors are not available turn below 1000’ AFE If ODP advises.
- If ATC vectors are available for obstacle clearance below 1000’ you can accept
- TLR States “EARLY ALL ENG OPERATING TURN ABOVE 400’ AFE OK” turns can be made below 1000’ AFE
- Engine Failure
What are the standard call-outs during climb and descent ?
10,000: FLAPS, SPEED, STERILE
18,000: Altimeters
