Engender fluids
Phlegm Disease Patterns fall into 3 categories:
1) DAMP
2) PHLEGM
3) RHEUM
DAMP phlegm disease patterns characteristics:
- DAMP: is clammy, viscous, lingering, stagnates
- Generalized or local; five layers are damaged, tends to sink
- If continues long-term can/will develop into Phlegm
- Generally associated with the SPLEEN or ENVIRONMENT
PHLEGM disease patterns characteristics
PHLEGM is thick, turbid, accumulated fluid
Effects the channels, organs, everywhere
Impairs movement and transformation of fluids from the lung, spleen and kidney
RHEUM disease patterns characteristics
RHEUM: thin, clear, accumulated fluid
Impaired fluid physiology transformation
WIND WATER FLOODING s/x
This is kind of a YANG EDEMA it is ACUTE
ACUTE edema of EYES, limbs, body
Inhibited urine
Aversion to wind/cold, body aches
Swollen eyes & head
WIND WATER FLOODING tongue & pulse
Tongue: thin coat, wet
Pulse: floating and tight

Long, clear urine or scant urine (really it’s a lack of containment of urine)
Dark complexion or bright white
Palpitations, tinitus, hasty breathing

Tongue: thick dirty coat
Pulse: soggy or moderate
DAMP PHLEGM s/x
Fullness, oppression of chest & stomach
Generalized heaviness, fatigue
Low appetite, nausea
COUGH w copios phlegm, EASY to expectorate
Clear urine, thin & loose stools (the loose stools oooze out, they have to wipe several times there may be mucus)
Sensation of incomplete bowel movement (tenesmus)
DAMP PHLEGM tongue & pulse
Tongue: pale, puffy body, thick, white greasy coat
Pulse: soggy moderate
