  • A, R, P, M.
  • “A” indicates automatic tuning based on update geometry.
  • “R” indicates route tuning to a enroute navaid within 250 nautical miles.
  • “P” indicates procedure tuning to a navaid needed for approach or departure procedure guidance.
  • “M” indicated manual tuning of a navaid and takes priority over the other three.
  • A course can be entered anytime that dashes are displayed on the course line, which is anytime except when the navaid has been automatically tuned.
