Control Display Unit (CDU) colors

Cyan
Green
Magenta
Shaded White

A

Cyan - inactive RTE, RTE LEGS, and RTE HOLD page titles
Green - Navaids being used in navigation solution, actively tuned VOR, ILS, or DME data, Active state of two-position and three-position selectors.
Magenta - Data used by FMC for lateral and vertical flight commands: active waypoint, airspeed, altitude, next airspeed and or altitude restriction, holding pattern inbound course, direction of turn, leg distance or leg time.
Shaded White - Flight plan modification not yet executed (MOD precedes page titles of modified pages)

FMC Source Select Switch - Normal

A
  • left FMC controls CDUs and provides input to the autothrottle system
  • right FMC operates in synchronization with left FMC
  • maps display composite information from both FMCs

FMC Source Select Switch Both on Left or Both on Right

A
  • selects left or right FMC for all FMC operations
  • the opposite maps will annunciate “FMC L” or “FMC R”

Note: Moving the source select switch will cause LNAV and VNAV to disengage.
