Flight Controls Flashcards
What does the little “x” on the flight control synoptic indicate?
There is an RVDT failure and the autopilot is uncertain of the position of a control surface.
What are the spoiler deflection angles?
Ground Spoilers — 55 degrees (all six boards).
Speed Brakes — 30 degrees (all six boards).
Spoilerons — 47 degrees (outer two boards on the inboard side of the turn).
Spoilerons w/ speed brakes — 47 degrees (outer two boards) 30 degrees for all of the other four boards).
How far can the ailerons deflect in a full turn?
11 degrees both up and down.
What is the definition of a hard over?
When hydraulics is pushing in a direction not asked for by the pilot. This is controlled by the Hard Over Protection System (HOPS).
What component is checking for different inputs from the pilot and the hydraulic system?
The force link.
The gust locks are good for what wind speed?
60 kts.
If we are missing vortex generators, what reference do we use to assess impact to mission?
