FLIGHT CONTROLS Flashcards
Speed Brake extension is inhibited if:
S- Sec 1 and 3 fault E- Elevator L or R fault A- Alpha Prot active F- Flaps Full (3 or full on A321) A- Alpha Floor T- Thrust lever > MCT
.
Normal Law
B- Bank 67° max ( 45° FD off, 40° FD on) will go back to 33° and maintain
Y- Yaw damping and turn coordination
P- Pitch Max 30° Up, -15° Down
A- AOA - Vmax, Vls, Aprot, Amax, Afloor (on FMA and EWD)
L- Load (G-loads)
S- Speed Vmax+6 (It will pitch up), Vmax+30 is maximum speed
.
Alternate Law (amber X’s)
B- Bank -no protection Y- Yaw damping only P- Pitch -no protection A- AOA - VLS, VSW L- Load same as Normal Law S- Speed stabilities varies
Direct Law (A/P Off)
On PFD (USE MAN PITCH TRIM) in amber
B- Bank no protection Y- Yaw -mech rudder P- Pitch no protection A- AOA -indicates VLS/ VSW L- Load -no protection S- Speed -aural overspeed
Modes in Normal Law
1) Ground mode
2) Flight mode
3 Flare mode (at 50’ takes a snap shot of angle and at 30’ pitches down for 8 seconds)
.
Alpha Prot
B- Bank 45° A- A/P disconnect S- Speed brakes retract A- AOA instead of Load P- Pitch up trim inhibit
Alpha Max
Stall range: pitch to maintain the speed to protect against the stall
Alpha Floor
- Between aProt and aMax
- Engages A/THR (TOGA)
- Avail from Liftoff down to 100’ RA before Landing
- Afloor (on FMA and EWD)
- Stays in TOGA Lock (to disengage:A/THR off)
.
High Speed prot. (Vmax+6)
- Bank limit 40°
- A/P disconnect
- Seeks wings level
- Pitches Up
Abnormal Attitude Law “Jet Upset”
When you exceed following: – Bank 125° – Pitch 50° Up or -30° Dn – Low speed 70-90 knots – High speed 440 KIAS / .91 MACH
- Reverts to Alternate Law w/ stabilities
- Gear DN- Alternate Law w/ Flare Mode
.
Will it stay in Alternate Law with Gear DN and A/P OFF?
No. Reverts to Direct Law
Mechanical Law
On PFD (MAN TRIM ONLY) in red
– Trim Wheel
– Rudders
– Thrust Levers
