Flight Controls Flashcards
Ground spoilers deploy via?
- WOW
- Wheel speed input above 45 knots or airspeed above 60 knots
- TLA less than 26 degrees
Ground spoilers retract via?
- Wheel speed less than 45 knots for at least 5 seconds
- TLA greater than 35 degrees
*Ground spoilers will not work in direct mode
Flight Controls are moved via?
Fly-by-wire (FBW) or
Conventional Cables (Ailerons only)
High Level Functions for Yaw?
- Yaw damp
- Turn coordination
- Gain on airspeed, as airspeed increases, rudder deflection decreases
Slats/Flaps controlled how?
Electrically controlled, electrically activated.
PDU (Power Driver Unit)- the electric actuators that moves the flaps/slats on their track.
ACE
Actuator Control Electronic (ACE)
-The electronic unit controlling the PCU
How many slats?
8 leading edge slats (4 per wing)
-2 positions
How many flaps?
4 double-slotted/fowler-type flaps (2 per wing)
-7 positions
First rule in slats/flaps extension or retraction?
Slats extend first, flaps retract first
What protects the flaps from an asymmetric condition?
A skew sensor
When speed brake handle is open, the speed brakes will auto close if?
- Slat/flap selection is 2 or greater
- Airspeed is less than 180 knots
- TLA is greater than 70 degrees
