flashbulb memory Flashcards
what is a flashbulb memory?
a theory proposed by Brown & Kulik in 1977
vivid memories of the circumstances surrounding a surprising and emotionally arousing event.
formation: high surprise + personal consequentiality = emotional arousal
maintenance: overt: sharing + covert: thinking = consolidation memory
limitations of the flashbulb memory
