Describe nephrocalcinosis in fish.

A

Nephrocalcinosis.

  • Rainbow trout production.
  • Associated with high CO2 levels, also dietary manganese deficiency and selenium, arsenic toxicity.
  • Lesions – hard, off-white renal nodules.
  • Histo – tubular accumulations of mineral without apparent epithelial cell damage, granulomatous inflammation, fibrosis
