Akhenaten means literally “One who is effective on behalf of Aten”. Change in artistic convention to reflect new religion. Wife Nefertiti. Builds new capital between Giza & Thebes, names it Akhetaten. Period he rules in is known as Amarna Period. Artwork depicts him with elongated form, protruding stomach, feminine features.
