Cat A: Likely to occur immediately or in a short time. Occur frequently to individual or continuously to fleet
Cat B: Probably will occur. Several times to individual; frequently to fleet
Cat C: May occur. Expected to occur to individual or several times to fleet
Cat D: Not likely to occur
Mishap Investigation Reports Timeline and Record Keeping
Submitted within 30 days of mishap occurance; retained at least 5 years following the end of the calendar year of occurance. Maintained by COMNAVSAFCEN for at least 30 years

Symptoms and Treatment of shock
Symptoms: vacan eyes, shallow/irregular breathing, cold pale skin, nausea, weak/absent pulse
Treatment: lay victim down, elevate feet 6-12 inches, cover to maintain body heat, reassure and calm victim if conscious
Burn Types and Treatment
First Degree: First layer of skin; Treatment: Cool compress, apply aloe, keep moisturized, avoid ice and oils
Second Degree: blistering, multiple layers damaged Treatment: Cool and moisten area, over the counter pain meds and seek medical attention.
Third Degree: Damage to all layers of skin, charred or leathery in appearance, nerve damage
Treatment: Seek medical attention immediately; rest person on ground and treat for shock; raise injured parts over the heart.
Difference between open and closed fracture
open: bone protrudes from the skin
closed: skin remains intact
Saving and Treating from electrical shock
shut off power, if power cannot be deactivated, move victim immediately while making sure to insulate yourself with dry material, use non-conductive material to move victim without personally touching them, do not administer first aid or have physical contact with victim until they have been removed from the power source.
Treat: administer CPR and render first aid
