What is the Oropharyngeal Airway
Inserted into a unconscious patient’s mouth to prevent the tongue from blocking the epiglottis
What is the bag valve mask
Used to manually ventilate patients if they are not breathing or struggling to breathe
What is a suction
Used to suck out any fluids like blood or saliva from a patient’s airway
What is a nasopharyngeal airway
Inserted into the nose for a path of oxygen if conscious or unconscious
What is an automated external defibrillator
Delivers an electric shock and attempt to restart an unconscious patient’s heart
What is an oxygen mask
Placed over the patient’s mouth and nose to help improve their breathing with shortness of breath
What is a nasal canula
Prongs are inserted into the notes to help support patient’s breathing with low dose air
What is a pocket mask
Provides a barrier and protects a rescuer giving mouth to mouth on a unconscious patient
What is an EpiPen
Delivers epinephrine which decreases airway swelling in the event of a life-threatening reaction
What is a glucometer
Determines a patient’s blood glucose level from a small drop of blood
What is a sphygmomanometer
Wraps around a patient’s arm to determine blood pressure
What is a penlight
Shines a light in the patient’s eyes to check pupil response
What is a stethoscope
Used to listen to a patient’s lung, bowel and heart sounds when put in the ears
What is a pulse oximeter
Please tell the patients fingertip to determine oxygen saturation and heart rate
What is a thermometer
Check a patient body temperature with an infrared light or being placed somewhere
