Treatment for a heart attack
- Keep victim at rest
- Administer oxygen
- Place victim in a position of comfort
- Seek immediate medical attention
- Determine if the victim has any type of medication for a heart condition
- Reassure
- Transport quickly

What are the symptoms of a heart attack?
- Severe “crushing” pain under the breast bone, arms, neck and jaw.
- profuse sweating
- shortness of breath
- extreme anxiety
- nausea and vomiting
- blush discoloration of the lips, fingernails, and skin.
What Is the definition of shock and what can cause it?
- A depressed physiological or mental state.

Treatment for a stroke
- Activate EMS
- treat like shock
- if victim has trouble breathing, help maintain an open airway. Provide rescue breaths if needed

- Swelling of lips, tongue, feet, throat, or hands
- Wheezing, shortness of breath, coughing
- Nausea & vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhea
