Help others in emergency

Give the first aid steps for bleeding and wounds
Place clean cloth or gauze and gloved hand over wound apply pressure 5 minutes
Call 911 if bleeding is severe
Elevate injured arm or leg over victims heart
Secure cloth bandage when bleeding
Never use a tourniquet unless…
You cannot control the bleeding
Give first aid steps for a chemical burn
Rinse away traces and move away contaminated clothes
Cover burn loosely with a clean dry cloth
Refer person to professional
Give first aid steps for a heat or electrical burn
If skin is not broken immerse with cool water or cool compress and bandage with clean dry cloth
Don’t break blister and don’t apply ointment
If severe call 911 and don’t clean wound. Cover burn loosely
Give first aid steps for choking
Determine if victim can talk or cough. If not, have someone call 911 while you give the victim the hemlock
Stand behind victim wrap arms around their stomach
Make a thumbless fist with one hand and place that fist just above navel and well below the ribs, with thumb and forefinger side toward the victim
Perform upward abdominal thrust by grasping fist with other hand and pulling in an upward thrust
Give first aid steps for fainting
Lay victim down on back and allow plenty of fresh air
Reassure victim and apply cold compress to face
if victim vomits, roll them onto their side and keep windpipe clear
Call 911 if victim does not regain consciousness
Give first aid steps for a chemical eye injury
Hold eyelids apart and flush eyeball with lukewarm water for 15 to 30 minutes. Don’t let runoff flow into other eye
Place gauze pad or cloth over both eyes and secure with bandage
Get to eye specialist or emergency room immediately

Place gauze pad or cloth over both eyes and secure with a bandage
