responsibilities
Mississauga maintains equipment and personnel for the suppression of fires within the territorial jurisdiction of Mississauga, which territory includes Pearson International Airport “Airport” (save and except for a small portion of the Airport located in the City of Toronto), and
the GTAA maintains equipment and personnel for the suppression of fires within the territorial
jurisdiction of the Airport
GTAA
Areas of Primary Response, Secondary Response and Joint Response
- GTAA fire is primary(lead) in the area of the GTAA and MFES is primary to an emergency in Mississauga
- GTAA fire can be requested to assist in Mississauga
- Each will notify each other of calls/alarms received in the GTAA area

Assistance requests and offers
- Primary responder may ask assistance from secondary responder or Secondary responder may offer assistance
- In an area of joint response MFES and GTAA fire will operate under a unified command system

Assistance refusals and acceptance
If MFES is primary:
* GTAA may refuse the request and if accepts may determine the nature, type, scope, response times it provides and may provide alternatives
If GTAA is primary:
* MFES **shall accept **but may determine the nature, type, scope and response time and may provide alternatives
MFES is primary at the Fuel Facility:
* GTAA fire** shall provide** help subject to GTAA retains the right to provide alternatives, determine the nature, type, scope, response time and amount provided in order to ensure adequate coverage of GTAA.

How are requests for assistance made by HH?
All requests for fire protection services shall be made by HH to Miss. by contacting comms or by calling 911
Halton Hills
Services provided shall include but not limited to
Determined by the Fire Chief:
1. accept or refuse
2. cease, discontinue or suspend services
3. determine priority of services

When will the Fire Chief notify Halton Hills?*
if services will exceed 1 hour. At such time Halton Hills will attend and take command releasing MFES or Halton Hills may request MFES to provide services for longer than 1 hour.

Fire Cause determination
- when providing services MFES shall also provide **intial **fire cause determination and investigation
- If there is notification to the Fire Marshall, the Fire Chief shall notify Halton Hills and they shall assume full responsibility for fire cause and determination
Halton Hills Responsibilties
Halton Hills shall notify the Fire Chief :
1. when an open air permit has been issued anywhere in the fire protection area
2. when a fire service key box has been installed at a facility in the fire protection area.
Halton Hills shall ensure key boxes are maintained. Keys are labelled, functional and accurately coded for MFES service keys

Mfes responsibilities
- MFES shall notify HH where fire protection services is provided as a result of open air burning taking place
- MFES shall provide HH with 1 key for fire service boxes for maintenance purposes. Key shall be returned upon request by MFES
Halton Hills
Fees
Invoiced monthly no later than the 15th for the month prior.
Fees:
Reported structure fire– $2255.00/incident/hour
MVC or Rescue ops– $820/incident/hour
All other incidents– $410/truck/hour
- After 1 hour, fees shall be calculated to the nearest 1/4 hour
- H.H. shall be responsible for extra ordinary costs such as but not limited to: foam, major equipment rentals
- Services on highway MFES will bill cost recovery program. If no program available than HH is responsible for payment.
Burlington Trench Rescue
MFES Services
- MFES shall provide Trench Rescue (NFPA 1670)
- All requests by Burlington shall be made through comms
- nature, type, scope and amount shall be determined by MFES Chief but no limited to:
1. accept or refuse to provide trench rescue
2. cease, alter, discontinue or suspend trench rescue
3. determine priority - Operate under a Unified Command. Burlington taking a supervisory role
- MFES **can’t withdraw **trench services after they commenced however may cease or suspend if MFES senior officers does not agree acting reasonable with the operational support provided by Burlington
- All decisions related to trencs rescue services **shall **be first communicated to Burlington Fire **except **where MFES has determined that the circumstances warrant immediate action.
Burlington Trench Rescue
Investigation
- MFES will assist Burlington in trench rescue investigations
*If the Fire Marshall, MOL is involved, Burlington is to assume full responsibility for the investigation
Burlington Trench Rescue
Fee’s
- Hourly fee invoiced monthly no later than the 15th for the prior month
- $1845/hour
- If on a provincial highway MFES will invoice cost recovery program. In no program, Burlington to be responsible for payment
- Burlington is responsible for extra ordinary costs not limited to : lumber for sheeting, shoring or to replace inventory, depreciated costs of equipment replacement.
Milton Fire
Emergency Response
- All request by Milton is made through Joint Fire Comms (miss/bram/cal)
- Mfes fire protection services are determined by Mfes Chief which shall include but not limited to the ability to:
1. Accept or refuse any or all requests
2. cease, discontinue or suspend fire protection services
3. determine the priority - If services exceed 1 hour, Milton will attend and take command releasing Mfes or may request Mfes to provide services beyond the hour
- If the Fire Marshall is required Milton** shall** assume full responsibility for the fire cause and determination
