Q

What does an ENG 1 OVERHEAT (amber) light indicate? When does it extinguish?

A

Indicates the temperature of a detector has increased to a predetermined limit and has sensed an overheat condition.

Will extinguish once the temperature drops below the onset temperature.

Q

How are Fire Detection Loop failures indicated?

A

FAULT (amber) light if both loops have failed or A or B is selected and the selected loop has failed or

A or B (operative loop) is selected, with the other loop inoperative and the selected loop fails.

There is no Flight Deck indication of a single loop failure.

Q

How does an Engine or APU switch operate? When does it unlock?

A

Operated by Pulling the Engine Fire.

Illumination of the Engine Fire Switch or ENG OVERHEAT light unlocks the switch.

Can also be manually overridden by the Manual Override Switch

Q

What Systems does pulling an Engine Fire Switch affect?

A

Pulling the switch up closes:
-Engine and Spar Fuel shutoff valve
-Engine Bleed Air Valve
-Hydraulic Fluid Shutoff Valve
Trips Generator control relay
Disables thrust reverser
Arms one discharge squib
Allows switch to be rotated for discharge.
