Fire Protection Flashcards
What is the electrical power source for the engine fire protection system?
Emergency Bus
How many fire detection loops are installed in each engine compartment
1 - Single Loop System
How is the loop designed to detect an overheat or fire condition?
1)The loop is filled with Helium gas which expands when heated.
2)The detector unit at the end of the sensing loop contains a diaphragm which snaps over-center at a set actuation pressure which completes an electrical circuit to the warning devices
What are the cockpit indications of a fire test or actual engine fire condition?
1) FIRE (ITT)- Red
2) E1 FIRE, E2 FIRE (CAS) - RED
3) FIRE FIRE (Aural Warning) - Triple Chime
4) SHUTOFF 1 and 2 Buttons Illuminated - RED
How many fire extinguisher bottles are installed
1 - Single Bottle
Where is the engine fire extinguisher bottle located
Real Fuselage
What type of extinguishing agent is in the engine fire extinguisher bottle
Halon 1301
What actions occur when the SHUTOFF 1 or 2 button is pushed?
1) Pneumatic PRSOV closes
2) Fuel Shutoff Valve closes
3) Hydraulic Shutoff Valve closes
4) Engine Fire Extinguisher bottle is armed
5) SHUTOFF 1 or 2 button white stripe is illuminated
What is the cockpit indication that the engine fire bottle has been discharged
ENG FIREX DISCH (CAS)
What will occur if the bottle switch is held to the DISCH position with both fire SHUTOFF buttons pushed?
The extinguishing agent is directed to both engine comparments
What type of baggage compartment fire detection is installed?
Smoke detector installed in baggage compartment ceiling has two photoelectric sensors and both must detect smoke to generate warning.
What are the cockpit indications of baggage smoke test or actual baggage smoke condition?
1) BAG SMK (CAS) - Red
2) FIRE FIRE (Aural Warning) - Triple Chime
Where is the rear cabin fire extinguisher located?
Behind the right rear most seat.
