What is Communication?
Communication involves transmitting, receiving, and processing information
What does communication constitute?
Communication constitutes the essence of any advertising or marketing program
What does the Sender do?
The senders are the people or company that is sending the message in order to get the consumer’s attention.
What is Encoding?
Encoding is forming verbal and nonverbal cues
What are transmission devices?
Transmission Devices aka Channels are the methods used to get the message from the sender to the receiver, For example, social media, television, and radio.
What is Decoding?
This is the process that happens when the receiver starts to understand the message that was sent.
When does Decoding occur?
Decoding occurs when the message reaches
one or more of the receiver’s senses.
What is the receiver?
The receiver is the one who the message is intended for. E.g the customer watching an ad.
What is Feedback?
The receiver’s response to the sender.
What are some examples of Feedback?
purchases, inquiries, complaints, questions, store visits,
blogs, and website hits.
What is Noise?
Anything that distorts or disrupts a message,
including marketing
What is Clutter?
The large volume of advertising messages that the average consumer is exposed to on a daily basis.
What is Integrated Marking Communication? (IMC)
The use of the marketing communication tools designed to maximize the impact on customers and other stakeholders.
What is the Integrated Marketing Communications Plan?
The plan coordinates the components of the marketing mix in order to achieve harmony in
the messages relayed to customers and others.
