shigella needs a much smaller dose to cause infection when compared to salmonella

both infect M cell

shigella is able to repture the host cell while samlonella cannot , therefore shigella can cause tissue invasion resluting in dysentry where salmonella does not.

shigella remains where it ornignially conlonizes while typhi moves around the host.

Shigella has shig like toxin which is a A-B toxin inhibiting protein synthese

actin filamnets are being modieifed which resluts in tissue desstruction also allows for movenent of shiggla horizontally between cells
