Standard Hemi height
K0001
K0002
Which type of WC?
light weight wc
K0003
which type of WC?
high stength lightweight
k0004
K0004 options and adjustability
- folding only sagittal plane
- some models have 2 vertical rear wheel positions
- come in seat sizes…16” to 20” (different combos)
- swing away/fixed arm rests, fiexed or adj height
- swing away leg rests
can mount options (solid back, amputee supports…
K0005 chairs options and adjustibility
a lot…
folding/rigid
wheel axel adjustment
any seat width/height
arm rests/leg rests (swing/elevating)
foot plates
seat to back angle
rear wheel camber
materials
front to rear seat slope is usually….
0-4 inches
benefit of RSTF being lower than FSTF
trunk stability
wheel axel adjustments:
wheels forward vs rearward
rearward: more stability, less efficient propulsion, more weight/work on casters, harder to perform wheelies, increased turning radius
forward: less stable, more efficient, more weight on rear wheel, decreased energy expenditure, easier to perform wheelies, decreased turning radisu
Cons of seat depth too short/long
short: not enough support on post thigh=increased load on buttocks, IT and sacrum, shortens the frame = more load on casters and harder to propel
long: increased post pelvic tilt and postural asymmetries, decreased mechanical adv for propulsion
front wheel drive vs midwheel drive vs rear wheel drive powered WC
front: good over uneven surfaces, larger turn radius, better for alternative drive controls
midwheel: handles general home community terrain, smallest turn radius, most intuitive
rearwheel: handles variety of terrain, largest turn radius, most stable, highest speeds
