  • Is a form of mimicking that is meant to emphasize the difference between normal and abnormal
    > when someone is doing a parody they are pointing out that the person they are mimicking is not normal… this is stating that their is a normal to be different from.
  • The exploiting of the abnormality creates humor.

    > In the past post modernism art was shock but with so much time passing we’ve studied and discussed it so much it becomes the establishment.
  • There is an effacement of boundaries between high and low art.
    > The separation between high and low art is no longer there… low art is just as respected and valued as high art.

    > Late capitalism is the process of moving away from the producer and into multinational corporations.
    > Schizophrenic is associated b/c it is a fragmented way of thinking… there is a dispersement of power.

    > There is a blurring of national boundaries.
  • it is nostalgic
    > Associating images with the past images… images/ideas seen in the past is where the nostalgia comes from.
    > Making something new isn’t happening anymore… everything is recycled… everything is a quotation of an art that has been done in the past.
    > Nothing is new.
  • It is a tendency…The way of moving forward is different… the way of thinking is changing.
