Film - Practical Flashcards
What does ISO do?
ISO changes how sensitive the camra is to light and can aid in getting a clean image. The downside of higher ISO is that it can cause more grain in your image - so it needs to be balanced when the shoot is happening
What does Apperature do
- it determines how light or dark your photo turns out to be because it widens or narrows the camera lens to let in more or less light
- it also affects depth of field depending on how narrow or wide the lens is due to the apperature
What is depth of field?
it determines how big or small the focus is on an image. for example if your depth of field is big then the whole image will be in focus but if your dpeth of field is small then only the main object would be in focus with a blurred background and helps the object stand out.
What is Shutter speed?
it determines the length of time that the camera’s shutter is open for. A fast shutter speed creates an image without motion blue but if the shutter speed is slow then you will be able to see motion blue from something that was moving in the photo.
