Question 1

What is the description for beach profile? (PHYSICAL)

Answer 1

To collect the data we used ranging poles and clinometers. We measured angle between the two lines on the poles and collected the data. We moved the poles to where the angle on the beach changes We worked our way down the beach

Question 2

What is the description for wave analysis ? (PHYSICAL)

Answer 2

To collect the data we stood at the shore line next to the sea and counted the waves for 60 seconds. We also looked for the estimated height of the wave and the time between each wave breaking.

What is the description for sediment analysis ? (PHYSICAL)

To collect this data we walked up the beach stopping at random points to look at the profile of the sediment. We picked up rocks and rated them from 1-12 depending on smoothness and the spherically.

What is the description for environmental quality survey ? (HUMAN)

To collect this data we stood at two different spots, on the hill and at the cove and scored the environment from 1-5

What is the description for pedestrian count ? (HUMAN)

Answer 5

We stood in one spot for 10 minutes on the hill and at the cove. We recorded the start time and tallied the people who past us.

To collect this data we asked the people we came across what job they did. We also looked around at the shops and cafes nearby.
