A

Convert Plasminogen to plasmin:
- Streptokinase
- Recombinant human tPA
* Reteplase
* Altepase
* Tenecteplase
- Urokinase

What is streptokinase?

A
  • From streptococci
  • Cleared by the liver
  • Antigenic antibodies form after 4 days
  • Can’t use for 1 year after dose is given

What is altepase?

A
  • Decreases mortality in MI
  • Treatment of acute ischemic stroke, DVT&PE
  • More active on fibrin - bound plasminogen than plasma plasminogen
  • Has to be given within 6-12hrs, idealy within 1hr

What is Tenectplase?

A
  • Decreases in MI
  • More active on fibrin - bound plasminogen than plasma plasminogen.
  • Reteplase given within 12hrs, idealy <1hr
  • Tenecteplase given within 6hrs, idealy <1hr
