usually had a large wooden castle surrounded by a strong wall it offered some safety from attack. the daimyo also provided protection through a small army of samurai or highly trained warriors

what was the strict code of conduct?
one was loyalty to one’s lord. the other was personal honour. these formed the heart of a set of rules called bushido the way of the warrior.
what were the shared features of European and Japanese feudalism
both began a time of violence and warfare. involved and exchange of land service. both knights and samurai were expected to follow codes of conduct that emphasized honour bravery and loyalty.
what were the differences between European and Japanese feudalism
religion: most Europeans were Christians while Japanese feudalism was influenced by ideas from Buddhism, Shinto, and Confucianism
