What was the feudal system?
The feudal system is where you pay for land with work and not money.
If the peasants didn’t own the land but farmed on it, they would farm it for The Lord (that owned it) and then make money from what they farm.
William controlled England with many things one of those things was Feudalism.

Peasants.
What do the barons do?
If the barons find people to be soldiers for the king, them the king would give the barons land in return.

They agree to be soldiers for the barons and in return they receive land.

They agree to be soldiers for the king or queen because they work for all of the,.

It is another word for Lords.
What is a vassal?
A vassal is a ,an who payed homage.
What is homage?
It is when you kneel before the monarch and promise to serve them, after you have received your land.
