A
  • Buddhism states that you can control your emotions, you can choose to be full of loving - kindness.
  • To develop the highest emotions - love, compassion, joy for others and peace.
  • It starts with wishing for one’s happiness and the same is wished for others.
  • It also leads to the eradication of desire

What is Vipassana?

A
  • This form of meditation is used to achieve insight into the true nature of things and life.
  • Nature of life is referred to as dharma (teachings of the Buddha)
  • The technique cannot be learned and must be taught by a master
  • Samatha is the way of concentration that paves the way for deeper meditation (Vipassana)
  • It develops the wisdom that comes from overcoming attachments
