Femoral Triangle Flashcards
What borders and is contaiend within the femoral triangle
Bordered by the
1) Inguinal L (base of triangle and most superior portion)
2) Adductor Longus m (medial boundary)
3) Sartorious m (lateral boundary)
- Apex is where sartorious and longus intersect
Contents (NAVeL toward your navel):
- Femoral N.
- Femoral A.
- Femoral V.
- Deep inguimnal Lymph nodes (OUTSIDE the femoral sheath)
What is the base of the triangle
Iliopsoas m
pectineus m
adductor longus
What makes up the roof of the triangle
Skin –> subcutaneous tissue –> Cribriform fascia –> fascia lata
Where is the Retroinguinal Space and and what is contained within it
It is located DEEP to the Inguinal L.
Muscular compartment — Iliopsoas M + femoral n.
Vascular compartment (femoral A and V)
What is the femoral sheath
A membrane of fascias that surrounds the femoral vessels and is deep to the fascia lata
