Femoral, Obturator, Sciatic? Flashcards

1
Q

Muscles which produce ? In relation to anterior or posterior division of anterior primary rami

A

Muscles which produce:

Flexion, addiction and internal rotation, are usually innervated by nerves derived from anterior divisions of anterior primary rami in a nerve plexus

extension abduction or internal rotation usually innervated by posterior divisions of anterior primary rami in nerve plexus

Q

Nerves with exit from GSF

A

Superior gluteal Nerve:
Division: Posterior division of anterior primary rami
Location of innervated muscles: gluteal region
Action: Abducts Hip

Inferior gluteal nerve
Division: Posterior division of anterior primary rami
Location of innervated muscles: Gluteal region
Action: Extends Hip

Tibial Nerve
Division: Anterior
Location of muscles innervated: Post. Thigh/leg
Action: Flexes knee and ankle

Common fibular (peroneal) nerve:
Division: posterior division of anterior primary rami
Location of muscles: Anterior leg
Action : dorsiflex (extend) ankle

Q

Femoral and Obturator nerve

A

Femoral Nerve
Divisions: posterior division of anterior primary rami
Exits: Deep to inguinal ligament
Location of muscles innervated: anterior thigh
Action: extends knee

Obturator nerve
Divisions: Anterior division of anterior primary rami
Exits: Obturator canal
Location of muscles innervated: medial thigh
