What is the arterial supply to the ovaries
uterine artery and ovarian artery
Where does the ovarian artery arise from?
Directly from the abdominal aorta, below the renal artery
Where does the uterine artery arise from and what does it supply?
Branch of the internal iliac artery, supplies the ovary, round ligament, uterus, vagina and uterine tube
Where does the vaginal artery arise from and what does it supply?
Branch of the internal iliac artery, supplies the vagina and base of the bladder
What does the pudendal nerve supply?
Sensory - clitoris/penis (dorsal nerve) /scrotum/labia/perineum (perineal nerve)
Responsible for clitoral and penile erection and male ejaculation
Also external anal (inferior rectal nerve) and urethral sphincters
Where do the lower 1/3 vaginal lymphatics drain to?
inguinal nodes
Where do the upper 2/3 vaginal lymphatics drain to?
internal and external iliac nodes
Where do the ovarian lymphatics drain to?
para-aortic lymph nodes
Where do the fallopian tube lymphatics drain to?
para-aortic lymph nodes
Where do the cervical lymphatics drain to?
External iliac and para-aortic
Where do the uterine lymphatics drain to?
internal iliac
Which female reproductive organ is made of cuboidal epithelium?
The ovaries
Which female reproductive organ is made of columnar epithelium?
fallopian tubes, endometrium and endocervix
Which female reproductive organ is made of squamous epithelium?
vagina, ectocervix
