- Headaches

When is HRT used?
A
- To relieve the symptoms of peri menopause and menopause (hot flushes, night sweats, mood swings, vaginal dryness and reduced libido)
- Prevent osteoporosis

What is the MOA of combined contraception?
A
- Oestrogen and progesterone have a negative feedback on the production of LH and FSH from the anterior pituitary
- This therefore prevents ovulation

What is the MOA of progesterone contraception?
A
- Increases the thickness of the cervical mucus, preventing sperm from penetrating through
- Preventing implantation by reducing the number and size of endometrial glands
- Reduction in the activity of class in the fallopians tube
