Describe follicular phase

A

it begins on day 1 of the cycle, corresponding to first day of menses:
* it occurs under the effect of increased levels of FSH more than LH
* At the beginning, granulosa cells have receptor for FSH only, and theca cells for LH
* At the end, accumulation of FSH induced cAMP in Granulosa cells —> have LH receptor as well
* LH then acts as surogate for FSH
