Feedback Flashcards
Given during task performance. (e.g. While practicing reaching the therapist says “Don’t hike your shoulder”)
Concurrent Feedback
Given after task performance (e.g. After practice of reaching the therapist says, “You didn’t open your hand wide enough”)
Terminal Feedback
Information about task performance that is supplemental to inherent feedback (e.g. A therapist provides feedback related to task performance. “You need to lock your wheelchair brakes”)
Augmented Feedback
Feedback is delayed by some amount of time (e.g. The OT says “You did better this morning but keep checking your brakes”
Delayed Feedback
Feedback normally received while performing a task (e.g. Knowing you made an error as you spill water when trying to pour from a pitcher to a cup)
Inherent (Intrinsic) Feedback
Feedback is given after task about the nature of performance (e.g. The OT says “Next time, dress your right arm first” or “Your elbow was bent”; Usually focuses on errors consistently made in cognitive stage)
Knowledge of Performance (KP)
Given immediately after performance (e.g. Right after an attempt at a tub transfer the therapist says “That was perfect.”)
Immediate Feedback
Feedback is given after the task performance about the outcome (e.g. The OT says “Your shirt is on backwards” or “You dropped the cup” Should be on the successes of movement outcomes)
Knowledge of Results (KR)
