Feedback 2.3 Flashcards
what is feedback
info that performer has access to during or after a performance
provides performer with idea if they succeeded or not.
what are the 4 types of feedback
intrinsic
extrinsic
concurrent
terminal
what is intrinsic feedback
come from within
relates to how a movement feels known as kinesthetic feel
-inexperienced performers can’t rely on this
+experienced performers have developed kinesthetic feel so they will know if movement is bad or not
leads to self assessment and correction
what is extrinsic feedback
comes from a coach usually combined with visual or verbal guidance as coach tells what right or wrong
+needed for less experienced performers
+experienced performers use both intrinsic and extrinsic to get full picture on how they did
what is concurrent feedback
takes place DURING performance and can be intrinsic or extrinsic
+can make adjustments as they go
+alter things done wrong by coach or kinesthetic feel
what is terminal feedback
take place AFTER performance and always an EXTRINSIC source
coach tell performer what they saw or conduct a video analysis
