Q

What should be considered when getting/providing feedback?

A

Source. The source is who delivers the feedback, are they a knowledgable coach or player, depending on this depends on how accurate or trustworthy the feedback may be.
Timing. The timing should be considered, immediately after a performance or a few days later? This all depends on how this will affect the performers understanding on what they can remember.
Order. Positive or negative order, depending on what comes first can determine how the performers confidence and motivation is affected.
Volume. How much they receive, too much may be overwhelming, too little may make it harder for them to improve.

Q

Example answer:

A

I received verbal feedback when learning the drop shot in badminton during shadow practice drills. The feedback came from a knowledgable performer watching my drop shot. After 5 repetitions I would stop and get feedback on my drop shot from my coach. They would tell me what I did well with and what still needed improvement. In the next 5 repetitions I would concentrate more on what I needed to improve on. I would repeat these 3 more times getting continual verbal feedback to help me improve.
