- Constructive (guiding improvement in a supportive manner).
- Deconstructive (criticism without guidance).

- Appreciation (expresses gratitude and recognition and fulfills needs to feel valued - motivates and encourages us).
- Coaching (helps receiver improve, learn - focus on growth and development).
- Evaluation (rates/ranks receiver against set of standards or expectations - grades).

- Constructive feedback is not positive.
- Constructive feedback is followed by explanation of how to move forward.
- Start with recognizing what you do well, negative feedback is framed as “this is what is necessary to meet the standards.”
- Focus on recipients behaviour, not personality.
- Best to happen in the moment (ASAP) when event is fresh.
