Denied Powers
Rights given to the states upheld by the 10 Amendments
Reserved Powers
Court case that established the supremacy of the national government through the supremacy clause and necessary and proper clause
McCulloch vs Maryland
Congress gives money for a specific purpose, state governments must pay for part of the program. These are sometimes referred to as unfounded mandates
Categorical Grants
Grants of money give for projects. Nut be applied for and can be given to governmental or non-government agencies
Project Grants
Agreements between state and foreign governments
Interstate compacts
States that the various states must recognize legislative acts, public records, and judicial decisions of the other states within the U.S. Ex marriage laws
Full Faith and Credit Clause
Agreements between states and foreign countries with congressional approval Ex sharing resources and law data
