Rochester criteria indications?
- 60-90 days febrile child
* reassures against serious infection

Low Risk: WBC<15.000 & Bandemia<1500
High Risk: WBC>15.000 & Bandemia>1500
CXR indiations?
- > 3 months
- SO2<95%
- RD, Tachypnea,
- Rales
- Fever>39.5
- WBC>20.000
Infants<28 days
immune system immature.
Risk of acq infection at delivery, sepsis.
PE, Lab( CBC & Blood culture, urinanalysis & culture, lp
If diarrhea : look stool for wbc, if bloody, culture
Management of <28 days
hospitalization, parenteral ab while waiting for culture,( no need if low risk)
Infants at 30-90 days evaluation
PE, Lab(CBC & Blood culture, urinanalysis & culture, LP and CXR),
Infants at 30-90 days management
Hospitalization if risk is not low
Clinic criteria : previous infections, nontoxic appearance, no focal bacteria inf.
Lab: wbc between 5k & 15k
Cover with parenteral ceftriaxone,
Antibiotics for each group?
0-28:ampicillin, gentamicin
1-2 months: ampicillin & cefotaxime / ceftriaxone
2-36ay: ceftriaxone
Antiphyretics for infants
ibuprofen(>6 months) & acetaminophen
