Q

What are the characteristics of a Science?

A

PORFECT!
- PARADIGM = school of thought or assumptions as to what type of paradigm (behavioural, cognitive, biological, psychodynamic)

  • OBJECTIVITY = observations must be based on scientific methopds and not influenced by bias
  • Standardisation of inscructions, operationalisation
  • REPLICABILITY = Investivation can be replicated under same conditions, EV will effect results
  • FALSIFIABILITY = Must have ability to be tested and proved wrong
  • EMPIRICISM = Based on sensory expriences through dirrect observation
  • Making predictinos tested by scientific methods
  • CONTROL = Observe IV effect on the DV controlling any EV
  • THEORY = Consrtuct any theories that come of the experiment and note all factors that may have had an effect
