Q

What is a normal fault?

A

A normal fault are created by tension which stretches the crust at constructive boundaries. Stress causes the rock to fracture and break, the hanging wall slides downwards and the footwall is elevated.

Q

What is a reverse fault?

A

Also known as thrust fault formed when crust is compressed at destructive plates. Pressure - crust fractures, the hanging wall slides upwards on top of footwall forming a scarp

Also known as tear faults, occur when two sections of crust move sideways at transform boundares.

Q

What are fault lines?

A
