THE BAR STYLES CONTROL
1. What is the BAR STYLES CONTROL?
It contains the style of bar to be used in the Gantt Chart.
- What can you do with the BAR STYLES CONTROL?
a. Change the Bar Style applied to an activity, or, by selecting Define from the Bar Styles list, open the Format Bar Styles dialog where you can design a new bar style or edit an existing bar style
- THE VIEWS BUTTONS. What are the VIEWS BUTTONS?
From here you can choose one of the three views: SCHEDULE, CALENDAR, and RESOURCE.
- What is the TIMELINE RANGE?
It shows the START DATE, FINISH DATE, and DURATION in each of the three views.
- What happens when you change the date on the TIMELINE RANGE, say, from August 2014 to June 2014, if the project started on May 2014?
It will shorten the length of the Gantt Chart, and will not allow you to slide the chart sideways to view the rest of the chart. It will not, however, affect the other two views.
- What does the ALL BARS range button do?
Say you shortened the view of the Gantt Chart to show only half the project. If you click on the ALL BARS range button, ALL BARS WILL COME INTO VIEW, showing the entire project.
- What does the TIMELINE UNITS button do?
Use it to quickly change the units in which the timeline displays: Hours, Days…Years.
