A

value of gifts of livestock received or animals transfered into the herd: since like purchases they enter the herd as inputs and since they are included in the herds closing valuation

How can the inputs or costs be affected by the presence of livestock disease

A

veterinary inputs or inputs related to preventetive care are needed in order to reduce the effects of disease on a particular level
animal with the disease require mre of some inputs to maintain their production at certain level - they need more feeding, care, etc

What are the obvious disease control costs?

A

they include; drugs, local medicine, desinfectants, veterinary costs
-> direct costs of treating or preventing the disease and where the disease decreases animal numbers and productivity they may also lead to increased production costs (for keeping more animals, feeding higher levels of concentrates)
