Faraday's Experiments Flashcards
What was noted concerning current and motion of the magnet?
Current appears in the coil only if there is relative motion between the magnet and said coil.
What was noted about the intensity of current and the magnet’s motion?
The faster the magnet’s motion, the more intense the current.
What was noted about moving the north pole of a magnet towards the coil?
If moving the north pole of the magnet moves towards the coil generates a clockwise current, then moving the north pole away will generate an anticlockwise current.
What was noted about moving the south pole of a magnet towards the coil?
Moving the south pole towards or away from the loop generates current in the reverse direction.
What is “induced current”?
Current produced in the coil by the varying magnetic field is known as “Induced current”.
What is induced EMF?
Induced EMF is the work done per unit charge by a varying magnetic field in producing current.
