Does STARR have other restaurants?
Yes, Le Diplomate, but also restaurants in Philadelphia, Miami, New York, and Atlantic City.
Does Joe Carroll have other restaurants?
Yes, mostly in Brooklyn, NY. Fette Sau, St. Anselm, Casino Clam Bar, Spuyten Duyvil.
Why the name St. Anselm?
It is the name of Joe Carroll’s grandfather.
Who designed the restaurant?
Stokes architecture. They also designed Le Diplomate and other PA projects: The Dandelion, Tapula’s Garden & Daily, PS & Co, Root, and Fette Sau.
How far in advance can reservations be made?
28 days
Gluten free options?
No separate menu exists, but we will make accommodations where we can.
What is done for birthdays?
We can send a candle in any dessert that is ordered.
Why is the Beefsteak room named as such?
It is a room dedicated to a dining style originating in 18th century NYC. Beefsteak dinners were banquet events centered around fundraising. All you can eat meat and beer without utensils or napkins.
